Why do I get too many routine pop-up notifications from kaspersky 2011 internet security program?

I have recently installed this program in place of AVG..and get so many pop-up questions that are difficult to answer. These frames stop videos and games. running until I have clicked on them. I would love to turn these off and only want to know if I have been infected or a serious problem. Has anybody managed to turn these off as I would love to know how?
